Dear My Scene Fans,
Since everything always seems to come down to decency, let's discuss several aspects thereof:
* I'd like a well-defined definition of the word "Diversity"
* I'd like a well-defined idea of what should, and what shouldn't, be allowed on these boards. I know about the basic site rules, but I am curious to know what everybody thinks about photos, etc.
* I'm wondering exactly when we should dub someone a total "troll", because "over half the board" was totally quick to condemn a newbie just because of an outdoor furniture photo...I am not an expert about who is, and who isn't, faking photos online, but I also don't know what the norm is, with regards to the way by which we should treat those individuals who happen to post non-doll photos.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I personally don't want Benny to reinstate an 'adult gallery or adult board' here. I come here to talk about dolls, not fantasize about them. If I want to look at naked bodies, I'll do a google search. Posting pictures of our dolls naked was more funny than erotic to be perfectly honest.
In reality, I regret posting the pictures of that nude model. I know it was stupid. Especially since a lot of the people on the 'Adult' gallery weren't even of legal age to see such pictures. But who cares? That's gone anyway! So anyone who didn't see it, won't.
I say we cut this thread and move on to something more important. If you want doll porn, go somewhere else! We're here to focus on My Scene dolls and to a lesser extent Bratz, Fashion Royalty, Moxie Girlz and whatever other dolls we like.
And I'm Done!

You know I think you're fabulous, as often as I type it to tell you so. Max wrote: I don't think it was a compliment. Or did you forget that more than half the board was pissed off at you over that 'pedophile' post? Would you quit answering references about my posts?! You ALWAYS get me in trouble. You are not me. You do not make my posts. I was not included in that "half". I think Jeannie's posts are delightful, in the way people think the National Enquirer is worth reading. I don't think or feel or act in such a way, so I delight in reading about others who DO.

This is what I personally think has happened with the adult boards. The name MyScene is a trademark of Mattel. It is an extension of Barbie. Mattel does look at this site. They may not be on here all the time, but they are on here. I think that they got word of it, checked it out and did not want a Mattel trademark "MyScene" to be associated with it. If a kid got on the adult board that was underage and we all know that it has happened, Mattel could get accused of encouraging inappropriate adult material to be possibly viewed by an underage child. NOT cool. But most of all, an adult board within a Fashion Doll forum discussing things like your favorite sexual fantasies, or wondering what it would be like to get molested by a predator (that one was absolutely unbelievable) or posting nude pics or links to them is totally inappropriate on a site devoted to MyScene and other fashion dolls. Don't get me wrong, adult subject matter boards are fine and they can be a lot of fun. But they do NOT belong on this forum.

Dear ChelseaGirl,
It's not as though anybody TOLD me that certain "Adult" topics were TOO "adult", or TOO unconventional, for everybody else... I was under the erroneous impression that we could all agree to disagree, without making anybody feel as though their beliefs were bad, or twisted, or whatever...
Thanks in advance for your reply.

That was definetly a controversial topic to say the least. I actually missed it. But others filled me in. I won't comment on it now just like I didn't comment on it then.

Jeannie whether it's that particular subject or the one of you asking people how you should pose on the bed for your first sexual conquest (another infamous thread that you posted), it is not appropriate on this site. Use common sense. On another site that is about, "adult subject matter" then if you wish, you can talk about about anything and everything. But not on a fashion doll site where there may be children as well as adults interacting.
This forum has a thread that you can talk about other things other than MyScene or dolls, like the entertainment section. No problem. Favorite movies, songs, an actor, TV show, etc. But what is called "adult material" does not belong on this site.
THE POINT IS THIS: Mattel welcomes adult collectors of MyScene, Barbie and her many incarnations. Mattel does not want a sub-forum on questionable adult subject matter within a fashion doll forum that the main theme is suppose to be about a Mattel fashion doll line and using the Mattel trademark, "MyScene", as a identification for the forum. Be happy and grateful that the site was not removed entirely.

Dear My Scene Fans (Especially ChelseaGirl),
I almost don't mind that the Adult Gallery is missing, but I still say that a basic Adult Forum should exist, because THAT'S where Enrico's recent, adult-themed message SHOULD have been able to exist! Poor Enrico couldn't even post that message in an appropriate forum.
I think that the "Use common sense" argument would be appropriate in this case, if it weren't for the differences in opinion which plague ALL message boards. One person's "decent" message will ALWAYS be someone ELSE'S "inappropriate, over the line" message. That is the very reason why clear rules are a must for ANY forum within which adult-themed subjects are allowed to be discussed.
The question NOW becomes: "When someone wants to post a message that's adult-themed, as Enrico's recent message is, what should they do?"
I hope that everybody understands that I'm not upset with Enrico.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I don't consider sex change to be an adult topic. It's not a sexual matter. It's just a biological change. Enrico didn't do anything wrong and fingers shouldn't be pointed in that direction. I see no problem with sharing personal life details, as long as they're not sexually graphic. THAT's what's adult.
I still think the best place for truly adult stuff is in a personal journal or blog or whatnot. There's no need to have it here. Or if you really want an answer, pick a person on the board you trust and ask via PM.
Although I honestly don't think Mattel can say a word to us. They could have control over a forum THEY created, but this is FAN-created. We're not working for them or attached to them in any way, aside from liking their dolls and talking about them. The adult forum's been around for quite some time, so if Mattel really had an issue with it, wouldn't they have done something years ago?

We all know how Mattel loves to swing the lawsuit stick. So unless Benny got an e-mail we don't know about, I don't think the adult boards were removed because of any Mattel involvement.

Enrico's questions/comments concerning sex-change are not at all in the same category as the other 2 subjects above that were discussed at length on the adult forum. However, there are many transgender information, networking and social interacting forums/websites on the internet for him to explore and talk to others that are dealing with the same issues.

So are we not supposed to share things from our personal lives in the what's new topic? That's a pretty major detail from Enrico's life. I think we should respect his right to share it here. What if someone was getting married and that offended someone else because it was a gay marriage? Is that poster not supposed to share just because someone else might disagree?
If we start censoring things that MIGHT offend, none of us will ever say anything and this place will be hollow. Censoring ADULT things only makes sense, as that's done often. But censoring things that aren't adult? That's not necessary.

I hear what you are saying, however on a forum/website that deals with the transgender community/issues/etc., he is more likely to meet people that are going through what he must deal with on a daily basis. Most people that come here to this website want to discuss fashion dolls and things related to it. Yes, there is a section on "What's New?". There are people on here that might not get it. Do you understand what I am saying? Being on a forum, interacting with others that are also transgendered I would think would be more helpful for him.

Dear My Scene Fans,
I think that Enrico should post his messages on whichever sites he feels the most comfortable with.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

If he has questions or wants to speak with people he can relate to, then he can go to those boards. But I see no problem whatsoever with sharing a major event in his life, one that he's probably very excited about, with us. Aren't we supposed to be friends here? Shouldn't we be able to share the major events in our lives and build friendships? Shouldn't we be able to talk about more than just Chelsea's new outfit? Yeah, this is a doll board, but I COMPLETELY disagree with your assumption that people only want to talk about dolls here. This board has a lot of people that FREQUENTLY engage in other conversations. Actually, so do most doll groups! The ones I'm on sure do talk about other things and that helps create a more family and friends environment. Sure, the primary purpose of the board is to share our doll love, but there isn't a goddamn thing wrong with going deeper than that and making friends. If you don't like it, don't read any topics other than the ones about dolls!

I think we can all agree that it's ok to share what's going on in your life, so long as it isn't something that is inappropriate. You can share about wanting to change your gender, your distaste for the current batch of My Scenes or whatever is on your mind. So long as you don't come on here talking about &^#%*!@ your boyfriends $*&# and how he $&*# in your $%@* while you were *$&@!^" his $*@&$# with a rusty *$9@#$#@

Dear My Scene Fans,
What a way to bring in the paper towels and the fire extinguishers!
I must say that I really needed the Adult Forum...especially today!
Thanks in advance for your replies.
