Umm...the last movie I saw in the theater was Superbad...my husband dragged me to see it. LoL. The beginning was rocky...and the only funny part was the one that they already showed in previews about "McLovin." Hehehe. The last movie I've seen period was a bad horror movie about gross anatomy class in medical school. My husband thought it would be funny for me to watch, with my being a medical student. It was called "Unrest." All I am saying is that if I were still in gross anatomy, I would have said NO WAY! And I was hoping that her cadaver would get up and chase her around, but no such luck!! You never got to see the cadaver do anything but lie there, dang it!! I think my actual gross anatomy class gave me more nightmares than this movie!! :-)

Dear My Scene Fans,

The last really GOOD movie that I saw was "Boo!" I didn't see the entire movie, but, since it was on T.V. yesterday, I thought that I'd watch it.

The movie is fairly dorky, gory, etc., but it's actually pretty clever, because it's about a bunch of college kids who become trapped inside of an old, abandoned assylum which is haunted by the spirit of an old man who did something wrong years before.

Since I had recently seen photos of old, abandoned assylums, the movie appealed to me, and I was able to overlook some of the movie's more gory moments.

"Hotel Rwanda" When I went to Cancun, the gardeners were all carrying machetes. Let's hope they never have a revolt against the tourists. But I guess tourists out number gardeners in Cancun, so we don't really have to worry about that. This is not what you're supposed to be thinking about after watching a movie about genocide.

Dear My Scene Fans,

I just saw the 1996 movie "Matilda," and I almost wish that I hadn't seen it, because it's totally disturbing in many ways.

If you've ever seen that movie, what did/ do you think of it?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Dear My Scene Fans,

Someone gave me my own copy of The Neverending Story, and I watched the entire movie for the first time in literally YEARS!

I can only say that seeing the movie as a 28-year-old was just...weird, because Falcor struck me as being slightly racistly portrayed, and some of Bastian's lines just seemed too planned, and, get this... The Childlike Empress actually freaked me out!

"What?", you say? I thought that her voice, and her eyes, were pretty darned freaky! She seemed almost TOO wise, almost TOO knowing, almost TOO...I'm probably being sexist, but it was as if she was, in some ways, a tease! She seemed to turn her tears on and off like a true manipulator, and she was very creepy, with regards to the way by which she explained the situation to the hero.

I never expected to be so disappointed, or so freaked out, by a movie which had mystified me so many years ago!

Of course, I do believe that the basic plotline of The Neverending Story is the most ingenious plotline ever, for the simple reason that it concerns the subject of the clever author!

Thanks in advance for your replies.

La Vie en Rose. There are some really great set pieces and camerawork in this one.

"Volver." The most predictable Almodovar film I have seen. Love Penelope Cruz's look in this film. And the art for the credits. (Penelope actually wore a butt pad in this film to make her a$$ more J.lo-liscious.)

Dear My Scene Fans,

I saw "The Golden Compass" last night (Friday night), and I thought that the movie was good, even though it was, in my opinion, much too violent for children.

I really wish that my generation had been shown role model heroines like Lyra.

Thanks in advance for your replies.
