Dear My Scene Fans,

I had such a time trying to post my contest photos from Flickr that I thought that I'd give some advice to any of you who have had problems...

The following is, what else, but some advice.... No, really...:

1. Get your photo alone. In other words, single it out by clicking on it, so that it's the only photo on the page.

2. Click on the singled out photo, and drag it over to the message box on this site. The link should end in "jpg" (Minus the quotation marks); if it doesn't, delete the link, and try again.

3. Go to the front of the link, and type "[img]".%20%20Go%20to%20the%20very%20end%20of%20the%20link,%20and%20type%20"[/img]" (Both should be typed minus the quotation marks).

4. The photos will NOT appear in the message box, but when you push the "Preview" button, they'll be there.

5. Push the "Send" button, and after your message has been sent, find it in the "Outgoing" message file, and you should see the photos, as they will appear to everybody on the boards.

I know that most of you know about the aforementioned steps, but I just don't want anybody else to be as confused as I was.

Thanks in advance for your replies; I hope that the aforementioned instructions are helpful to you.

I like Flickr because we can comment on each others pictures and visit groups and things, but what sucks is that they don't give you the IMG tags. Photobucket GIVES you the IMG tags so to post a pic all you have to do is copy and paste. Easy peasy.

Jeannie, when you are on the single view page, there should be an icon right on top of the picture, saying "All sizes". When you click this, you will be taken to a new page, where you can choose between several sizes of the same photo. The medium size is usually great for forum posts. At the very bottom of the page is the url/link of the photo for you to copy and paste into a post.

This advice is just for your own photos, though - if you are trying to post others' photos you might not find the "All sizes" icon (it doesn't appear on others' photos if they have set their permissions to "All rights reserved").

Yeah, but after you've gotten the nack for posting pics from Photobucket providing the link, you should be able to figure out how to get the information and post it from other photo sharing websites, as well.

That's true. I think for novices, Photobucket is easier to use because it provides the IMG tag for you.
