I remember someone talking about a Barbie line of dolls in black dresses and I found this pic of the line. There are TWELVE Barbies in a variety on skintones and they are all on MM bodies and are expected to be out in December.

I luv the dolls and the variety, I wish the Fashionistas looked like this line.

Dear My Scene Fans,

Thank you, Sam, for the photo. The following are my opinions of these girls, and the names that I'd give to them:

1 Leslie: I like her cool, Retro hairstyle. (*)
2 Blaize: I think that she looks to be sort of...blah... (X)
3 Victrinka: She looks as though she's a Femme Fatale! (*)
4 Teresa: She looks as though she's an only slightly interesting rehash of Mattel's Top Model Teresa doll, but I like her shoes. (X)
5 Charlotte: She looks sort of intriguing and weird, but I like her tight, curvy dress. (*)
6 Nicole: She sports an all-around interesting style. (*)
7 Lucy: She's wearing a cool dress, but she looks soap star typical. (X)
8 Almeena: She's an interesting redhead. (*)
9 Keedora: She looks so intriguing, and she's so much different than the other girls, because of her skin tone, and because of her hairstyle; she seems to have a ton of personality, too. (*)
10 Shirley: She's so overly-smiley that she's actually intriguing. (*)
11 Deena: She's rockin' a Retro 1920s/ 1930s glam look, with regards to her hairstyle. (*)
12 Becky: I think that her smile is annoying, but that her dress is interesting. (X)

Uh oh. I like 8 out of 12, so I'm gonna have to narrow that total down...a great deal, 'cause I haven't ROOM for 8 more non-My Scene dolls...

If I could only choose 5 (And I'd hate to have to do that), they'd be...

Leslie
Victrinka
Charlotte
Keedora
Shirley

I wish that I could add Deena to the list...

I personally think that the entire line should be called...The Gold-Diggers' Dream Funeralwear Collection...   I know that that wouldn't be funny in real life, but in the doll world, it's hilarious. I mean, these ladies look as though they're going to honor their dearly departed, wealthy, old husbands...in style! Furthermore, you usually don't see so many black-clad women together at one time unless someone has died...right? At least I don't THINK that each and every woman who's at a cocktail bar is wearing a black dress every time that she goes to the bar.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I'm excited too, I'm glad the heards are uber huge like most other Barbies. I luv the Darkest AA doll third from the right and the raven head third from the left.

OMG. Barbie, where has your talent been hiding all this time?! xD

I really do loves the variety. If they had bendable clicky-legs, they could of definately been up against ITBE. I'm really starting to get annoyed with teh Model Muse body now...

What I basically see in this collection is Barbie and her Fashion Fever friends rocking their own take on the little black dress.

The 6th girl appears to be Barbie. The 5th girl, Shannen. THe 7th is Teresa, 8th is Summer. The 12th girl...Desiree. OMG, why does this collection come out AFTER I decide that I will "collect" all of Barbie's Fashion Fever friends?!

BTW...this is practically screaming ANTM Promo. xD

I thought the same thing. LOL How great would it be if this was a relaunch of the Barbie Top Model line?

Knowing Mattel, that'd probably be in the $20 - $30 range. I'm hoping the $10 - $15 range, since they have no accessories and it'd be awesome if they were available in retail stores like TM was.

Dear NattySeal,

You should get a few Barbie Basics models and photograph an ANTM Promo show! That'd look cool!

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Oh WOW! This is pretty exciting actually! Kinda feels like a high fashion replacement for the "Birthstone" dolls we usually get every year. Definitely a cool idea! I love the fact they are using the Desiree mold for one of them! This line definitely has my interest ;)

Yeah..I don't see $10-$15 for model muse/Barbie Collector body dolls :( I think I remember reading a $24.99 price point for these earlier this year. I think the line looks really good, I'll be getting at least 4 of them.

Thanks for info MyScenehangout, now if only they added a clothe rack. It would be really cool.

A clothes rack definately would of gotten my attention. :)

24 bucks...and I'm discouraged-ish.

A clothing rack would be VERY awesome, with a decent amount of hangers.

$24 is kinda pricey, Top Models were only $20 and they had 2 outfits. But TMs weren't label collector dolls so they don't exactly count. Hopefully the accessory assortments are decently priced.

The dolls look great and the dresses for being as plain as they are look pretty darn good too.

Well I've heard the price would be around $20.

I know I'll get at least 2 of them.

For $20, I would get one, maybe two. For more than that? None.

The dolls made their debut ai the Mall Of America, along with some Vintage Favorite Barbies.

The Basics are Black Label, didn't expect that.

The models are even numbered.

I want all the accessory packs, but they'll be $24 a pack. Oh so expensive!

Oh, I've just died and gone to Barbie heaven.
Well, almost. If they had poseable bodies, then I would of died and gone to heaven.

Barbie really is back this year. Just look at those little details on the accessory packs! :D Playline Barbie and Collector Barbie are seriously two different girls. Playline B is all about being a positive role model and princesses and pink. Collector B stills rocks out to her own beat...with few limitations.
