The barbie you are referring to is just white barbie with a tan. The one I am talking about is this one:

They're not making that one though. They would have been clear about it in the description if they were. The one they're reproducing should be the one I linked to.

That's what I think too, Lori. But I think somebadchica was talking about Astronaut as her childhood doll and just commenting that 1980 Black Barbie uses the Steffie face mold, which originally belonged to a caucasian doll. That's why I said AA Astronaut actually used the Spanish face mold, so it's not technically "hers" either. At least that's what I thought. Could be wrong.

Yeah, I was confused as to what barbie they were remaking. I am soooo happy it isn't that one! LOL!

Let it not be said that Mattel doesn't have a sense of humor. Will you look at Palm Beach Sugar Daddy Ken! He makes Earring Magic Ken look positively butch by comparison. The hair, the jacket, the little dog scream Queen Ken. I can just see the controversy brewing already! I think he's adorable and I'd actually buy him if he wasn't in the serious collector's range.

Ken is a Silkstone, like the Barbies. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he's the first Silkstone Ken.

Actually, there have been Silkstone Ken dolls before. There's not a lot, but there are a few.

I actually like SD and will get him of course. I want the clothes from a couple of those SB ladies. I may have to buy them and sell the silkies nude :D
