Dear My Scene Fans,
I don't understand why Mattel would want to make the Lots of Looks girls' faces all rubbery, when the LoL wave doesn't have anything to do with a "moveable face feature". I mean, Mattel thinks that these incredibly different doll waves are going to sell more successfully than waves which actually make more sense; the Fab Faces wave didn't actually sell that well.
The solution to the wave's weirdness is so simple that I'm surprised that Mattel didn't think of it:
* Make the LoL girl's neck knob in such a way that the heads themselves can be switched, and just state ON the boxes that the dolls are NOT intended, or safe, for children who are under a certain age. Why try to make the LoL wave the third SwS wave?
* Create an indented, hard plastic, headband-shaped stip in the center of each individual head, so that each hairpiece can be snapped into the head, and swapped out, with a number of plastic pieces (I guess that the hairpieces wouldn't even necessarily have to go all of the way down on either side of the head) which fit into the heads. Each hard plastic strip could be the color of the head to which it belonged, and each hairpiece (Hair, hair sticking out of an actual headband, etc.) could be well-secured, so that the rooted hair wouldn't fall out of it. When each hairpiece was snapped into place, it would be snapped into an indented area of the head, so that it would rise to the same level as the rest of the hair; the indentation of the head wouldn't be a problem, because it would be visible only on the INSIDE of the head.
I WISH that the LoL girls were more like that; I personally think that they'd make more sense if they didn't look like the FaF girls.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
