Barbie's BFF Nikki is getting a makeover in upcoming 2010 Barbie lines and she how has the *drumroll* DESIREE HEADMOLD!!  Personally, I really don't like that Mattel did this. I luv the headmold, but it screams Desiree, while the old headmold was perfect for Nikki. Instead of changing Nikki, I'd prefer if Desiree or another AA girl joined Barbie's BFF clique, aside from Grace. So that would mean the AA girl in the Mermaid Tale bikini line might be Nikki, not Grace. For me, I really don't mind the change. The Nikki face that was used before (that use to belong to Christie..and before that Asha) is almost 20 years old. It was kinda hard to get excited about it when I continued seeing it used on Nikki. Desiree was under used so I'm happy to see it being put out again. My only thing is..the smile. It's just so big and cheesy looking. If they closed her mouth up a bit I'd be much happier. Fashionista "Artsy" would have been much better if they did that. Also...it would be nice to see Nikki in a little darker skin tone. She really doesn't add much diversity from the other girls in the line when she's only two drops of brown dye darker than everyone else

I don't like the big smile either and if she was the shade of the dark Barbie Basics she would be cool!

I agree with Sam. The other headmold was 'Nikki'. This is Desiree. I want to know why Barbie is only allowed a certain clique of friends? Bratz have tons of friends. So why can't Mattel have both Desiree and Nikki in the same line? Or alternate them the way Bratz did with Meygan, Dana and the other random '5th' girl?

All her friends are getting new faces of other girls. Teresa has Summers and now Nikki has Desirees, very odd. Mattel could even lines the older My Scene where there were Barbie, Madison, Chelsea, Nolee, Delancey AND Kenzie were all together in a line. Barbie has more than enough friends from her FF slim tube days to do so.

It's obvious the Fashionistas are now composed of Barbie 4x, Teresa, and NIkki. I'm not too sure if I like Nikki's lighter skintone.
One question: What face will Summer and Raquelle sport now? O.o

I REALLY hope Mattel stops that sense-less trend. Why would I want a doll that I can't redress into standard shoes? AAGGHHH!
